The cover is about the size of a board book, but the book is quite thick. I was disappointed in the size, but my son (just turned 5) LOVES it. He loves things that fit in his hands. And he loves to be read to from this book. Even more so than I thought. He tends to shy away from large picture volumes - even those containing multiple stories, and even though he likes chapter books. But he loves this one and always wants to keep reading. For the most part, the stories are told well. Sometimes, a story will veer into death and destruction a little more suddenly than I think is appropriate, but luckily those parts tend to go over his head. The pictures are wonderful and interesting to my son.
Purchased this for my 85 year old father with dementia. It is my second purchase. The first one he wore out! It is such a blessing to walk into the assisted living and see him thumbing through his Bible. He has favorite stories that he reads over and over. Price much better than bookstores
This is the perfect Bible for a toddler! The cover is a good thick quality hardcover so it holds the pages together very well. It has all the well-known Bible stories with beautiful artwork. It keeps the stories simple and with a little message at the end about what it means to apply it to your life.
The interpretations/stories written by the author are too negative for me to feel comfortable reading to my 3 year old. It also seems out if chronological order and to skip back and forth. We got through 40 pages and I had to put it away. The illustrations also did not meet my expectations. I want to give my child a short but positive first experience to the bible. I think I will just go to a Christian bookstore and preview the children's first bibles before I decide to buy again.
I love this Bible for kids! I would give them 10 stars if I could! The illustrations are beautiful and well presented. The writing on each page carefully captures the main point, still keeping children engaged. This kids Bible accurately very follows the layout of the Holy Bible. We purchase these for our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes as well, and they are perfect! They fit very easily in a standard shoebox. The dimensions of the Bible are 5.5inches x 7 inches. This is the second year we are purchasing them from Amazon and so very happy to find them in stock.
I bought one for each of my kids, ages 5 and 9. It was a very easy read for my 9 year old, but this is the first Bible she has owned and wanted it in the simplest terms for her to start out. Both kids loved it and it answered a lot of questions they had.
The book is weird. I mean I'm sure many buy this as a formality and definitely works as such. But when cracking open the book it has a very forward passage about children obtaining the ability to talk to god. Another statement reads "If you cant read then have someone read them to you." Then how would the child be able to read this suggestion?!I dont know its just kinda whack. First few stories are very broooootal. Cain and Able with a nice picture of the brothers ready to get their head smashed in with a rock. My first bible indeed.
I really love this bible, I bought it for my nephew and he LOVES it. The quality of the paper/print and colors is quite amazing. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the weight of this book. It is very heavy, may be not the most child friendly. I will keep it for my nephew because it is still an amazing book to introduce the bible to a toddler.
The pring quality of the Bible is excellent and every page is color illustration.I always like to read children's book, cause it's easy to understand and easy for me to spread gospel to non-believer. I believe this is also suitable for people who has interest to explore Christianty at the entry level.
