What a terrific resource for those who sew (or want to sew) their own professional-looking activewear as well as other knit garments. Be aware that this is not a book of patterns, but instead is a book of techniques for sewing activewear - full of all those things you wondered about how to do like getting seams that are stretchy enough, adding gussets to leggings patterns that lacked them, adding ready-to-wear type details, etc. All instructions and explanations are clear and concise, and they are all accompanied with helpful photographs. As I read, I found myself getting excited to sew some more activewear. I've already used the author's tips and advice to try (gasp) flatlocking on my serger and am very pleased with the results. Next, I plan to try the leggings waistband variations on a few pair of yoga leggings. I also enjoyed reading the interviews with some of the movers and shakers in the activewear sewing community.Rarely do I buy full-price books, but I am so glad I treated myself to this one. I am going to be returning to it again and again. (This is also my first purchase of an Amazon print-on-demand book, and the quality is very good. The colors are good, the text is crisp, and the binding feels like it will hold together well.)

This is a wonderful book on how to sew activewear. It includes lots of valuable tips on sewing knits, with both a server and a sewing machine. It covers all types of knits and elastics. I recommend this book. Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much!

I love Johanna Lundstrom’s blog and YouTube channel. This book has a ton of information if you want to dive into the world of sewing your own activewear. Nice photos to go along with all of her instructions and examples. Love it!

This is an excellent resource for people who sew active wear of any kind, or even comfortable clothes out of knits. The author has clearly put some thought into what people need to know, such as types of fabrics, recommended stitches for seams and hems, notions, and a whole slew of ways to add features: sleeves with thumb holes, fold over elastic, card pockets, ties and strings, ribbing, binding, altering waist bands, crotch gussets, and zipper pockets. The photos are helpful and of good quality and the author's writing style is clear and concise. If the price is putting you off, think of this book as a super high quality Craftsy class that you can keep referring to AND you can have access to the author through her Facebook group and her website. She is great about answering questions!

Very good book to introduce or reintroduce engineers and software into embedded development. The only issue is with the board that they chose, since it is no longer readily available. However the subject covered was very good and any good engineer should be able to replicate the examples on a different board. I highly recommend reading and rereading. I am an engineer and have to always keep my skills up to date. Easy to forget or develop bad habits

Great book on embedded systems, and has decent examples.

This book is too tightly bound to the development kit. If you don't want to buy that kit, then you're sort reduced to reading the book and hoping it sinks in.

I purchased this book in an effort to learn how to program embedded systems. When I opened the book I quickly realized that the true strength of this book's potential lies in it's ability to pattern it's teaching off of an embedded development kit that I would need to purchase separately.I was okay with this and called the dev kit manufacturer from the appendix - arcom and tried to purchase the hardware development kit so I could follow along with the book.The Arcom distributor for my area indicated that the kit used by this book for this second edition was not only obsoleted but end of lifed and not available for purchase.This made me quite sad since without the hardware development environment this book becomes practically useless. That is a real shame. Perhaps the authors simply need to locate a dev kit that is available to their readers and do an update?As a previous embedded developer and hardware engineer I could probably go through the text and learn a handful of techniques, but embedded programming for me has always required some hardware platform.This is such a shame....After being a loyal Seattle Amazon customer for so many years, I felt so strongly that this is my very first review after literally dozens and dozens of Amazon purchases. This is the very first time I felt my money was unfortunately wasted.

The book is in good state, with just a few written lines. Overall in good shape and very useful and most of all at a good price.

Good information, but not as in depth as expected.

Good material, my current class required this book and having in on my kindle was a pleasure. It is hard to get this in hard copy at a decent price.

This is a good starting point for those interested in embedded systems development. Has the right amount of overview and detail for beginners.
