If you've been listening to podcasts about gardening or reading books or blogs about gardening that make it sound "sexy" and easy...read this book first! Seriously, though, anybody who's gardened for any length of time will find themselves laughing as well as nodding their head in agreement with the author's insights and stories. If you've been gardening for a few seasons and have gotten frustrated with the process and never-ending work, put down your hoe/rake/shovel/seed packet and take a break with this book. It's healthy to laugh at ourselves, and, believe me, veteran gardeners will laugh at themselves as they read through this little volume.

I have to say this was an easy read that had me laughing out loud often enough that I had to explain or read passages to my husband. Sometimes I was laughing so hard that he couldn't understand me. I am not a gardener and this book hit on every point as to why I am not. It also hit a few points on how I get sucked into trying to garden if I don't overcome that feeling in the early spring. I especially loved the chapter on pick up trucks, Chapter #4: Pop the Trunk, well worth the read. If you don't find yourself laughing or at least smiling a lot, you probably have never tried gardening.

Gave this to my husband and he loved it! Heard him laughing quite frequently! And he had to read me some of the best parts. He also enjoyed sharing it with another gardener! It was a great gift.

This was a righteous tongue in cheek look at gardening. Sometimes hitting closer to home than missing. A job very well done.

I have not finished this yet but I see myself and have to laugh out loud.

I love the humor of this writing, which is so unique for its genre. And the short chapters make it easy to pick up and enjoy at intervals. I'm not a gardener per say, but I enjoy plants, gardens, and working around the yard from time to time. This book brings typically dry garden writing to life, and makes it relatable for the average person.

Not as funny as I hoped. Rambled too long to make a point.

Bought as a gift. Was loved.

This book is like a life saver! I realy love this, you can find almost everything you need for Nursing Diagnoses plus the rest pf the information you need to make a very good Nursing Care plan! This has more details than the NANDA book we are using in Nursing.

I have the 1st edition of this text and it is the best nursing book. Love it. The only drawback to this edition is the index card is not laminated. I own many care plan books and this book is beautiful. Not only great for nursing school, but I actually use it at work. I don't need a care plan book that gives me diagnosis for particular disorders like Carpenito-Moyet or lists it by category like Sparks and Taylor. This is alphabetical by diagnosis so its very easy to find what you need. The cover changed from the 1st edition, but thankfully the content is as insightful, helpful, knowledgeable and lovely as every. Thank you Mesdames Doenges, Moorhouse, and Murr.

Necessary for nursing school, hate it, but use it often for care plans I hate those too. The good news is that when you figure out what nursing intervention fits your patient...this book writes the rest of the care plan for you (just cite your source and the pages used)

A practical and very well written guide to MSK Ultrasound.A very comprehensive text.Many images and illustrations of probe placement to image various structures.All extremity joints have full coverage-both of normal anatomy and pathology. The opening chapters on the skin,tendons,muscles and nerves lays the foundation for the later chapters that explore each area in great depth.It was until I recognized the brachial nerve as I was doing an upper extremity venous Doppler,did my appreciation of this text begin to snowball.Along with the free smart phone downloads by the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology "Technical Guidelines" in PDF, I believe that the practitioner is equipped with all they need to gain proficiency-leaving -leaving only experience and curiosity for the user to add.

I use this reference book in my everyday work scanning musculoskeletal cases. Easy to read and thorough.

This is the best US book that I have found. Not only do the authors carefully describe the normal and pathologic US anatomy as visualized on scans but they provide a thorough review of anatomy. I think the anatomical descriptions, illustrations, correlations with CT and MRI are better than what I see in most anatomy texts. A must have if you do a lot of clinical US of MSK system.

About the Author

Aaron Bobrow-Strain is a professor of politics at Whitman College, where he teaches courses dealing with food, immigration, and the U.S.-Mexico border. His writing has appeared in Believer, The Chronicle of Higher Education Review, Salon, and Gastronomica. He is the author of White Bread: A Social History of the Store-Bought Loaf and Intimate Enemies: Landowners, Power, and Violence in Chiapas. In the 1990s, he worked on the U.S.-Mexico border as an activist and educator. He is a founding member of the Walla Walla Immigrant Rights Coalition in Washington State.
